Traffic wardens earning over £50,000 a year!

Some traffic wardens in London are earning over £50,000 a year. That is 4 times what a new nurse earns and 3 times the earnings of a primary school teacher.

They are able to do this through extensive overtime. However we have found that in some areas in order to qualify for overtime they need to be issuing loads of tickets! In fact we have seen a letter from a group of traffic wardens to one local authority complaining that they are putting themselves at risk of abuse by the pressure placed upon them in order to qualify for lucrative overtime.

At the end of the day who pays for these extortionate wages. Yes the motorist pays through parking fines levied!
